I received the Belly & The Bean System; a set of skin care products specifically designed to prevent stretch marks, just over a month ago. Over the course of the past month I’ve used these products religiously, morning noon and night and thought it was time to share my thoughts on them, should you be in the market for some anti-stretch mark products!
So, first off, the products can be bought together as a skin care package, or individually. There’s also a sample size offered in case you want to try a smaller amount of the product before committing to a larger purchase. Included in the Belly & The Bean System are the: Luminous Day Cream, Luna Butter, Sugar Coat Body Polish, and Lash and Brow Preserve.
These are two creams that can be used interchangeably depending on your needs. The Luna Butter is slightly thicker and is more of an intensive moisturizer. The day cream is lighter. I typically applied the day cream in the morning, repeating in the late afternoon if needed, and applied the luna butter before bed. Both creams have a harder consistency compared to most typical moisturizers and you have to generously rub the cream on your belly so that it sinks in. An applicator is provided with the products to help remove the cream from the pot so you can then easily apply to your belly. Both products moisturize your skin well and leave it with a nice glowy look. They also smell absolutely divine and tend to work even better after using the sugar body polish.
The sugar coat body polish is a really lovely exfoliator for your belly. I use this several times a week during my morning shower. It exfoliates your old/dry skin away leaving nice fresh skin underneath. I follow up with the day cream as soon as I’m out of the shower – while my skin is still wet – the cream seems to absorb better this way. I leave the cream to soak in and dry while I’m getting ready. This is also a lovely smelling body polish, and works really well before applying either the day or lunar cream.
There are so many bodily changes that happen during pregnancy, and many women experience the loss or weakening of their eyelashes. As part of The Belly and the Bean System the company include their lash and brow preserve. An item made of entirely natural ingredients (as with all B&Bs products). The preserve is made up of five key ingredients: Coconut Oil, Aloe, Almond Oil, Vitamin E and Biotin. These ingredients help with the the growth and strength of your eyelashes during pregnancy. I’ve used this product every night before bed, after taking my mascara off. It’s a wonderful nutritional moisturizer for your eyelashes and leaves them feeling soft and healthy. I haven’t personally noticed any eyelash loss during pregnancy so I can’t say its helped with that, but regardless for me, its been a wonderful healthy moisturizing treatment and I’m always looking for ways to better help maintain my lashes.
So that’s my review of the Belly & The Bean’s body care products. And so far… no stretch marks! The proof is in the pudding! These are some highly recommended, really lovely luxury products to get you through the challenging months in the lead up to birth.
