I put the cleaning, the laundry and even the blog post I was intending to post this morning to one side to make cookies with Grace. I’m realizing more and more how important it is to pave out the time for your little one(s) even if it might be at the cost of your to-do list. And yes, the rest of my house looks horrendous, but that’s okay! Anyway, Grace is now playing quietly in the living room after a full tummy of lunch and cookies! And so I have a little time now to share the quite successful and very easy recipe we made this morning… even at the cost of five smashed eggs and sugar on the floor (that I thought had been added to the mixture!). Anyway, this is such a great recipe to make with the kids or if you’re looking for a quick and easy recipe to make for the holidays. Ingredients and recipe below:
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture until just blended. Mix in the quick oats, walnuts, and chocolate chips. Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets
Bake for 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
