After recently being loaned “Nantucket” (the sailboat above) from Eric’s brother Kurt, Eric and I decided to take full advantage and planned an overnight trip to Vineyard Haven last weekend- one of Martha’s Vineyard’s towns. It was the first of many soon-to-be trips this summer (next one – this upcoming weekend!) and we’re so excited to be able to use it for the rest of the season. Eric sold his boat at the beginning of the summer, and he was a littleeee down in the dumps about it I can tell you. Anyhow, our trip last weekend was lovely, just one night away, without the baby and without the dog. Sometimes I forget how easy life used to be! With the exception of the unexpected thunderstorms Saturday night it was the perfect getaway! We walked around Vineyard Haven, ate at The Black Dog and relaxed on the boat. Can’t wait for our next trip in a few days time!
If you’re looking to take a little sailboat excursion while on the Vineyard, Eric’s brother Kurt has the most wonderful charter business out of Edgartown. His boat looks a lot like the boat above – complete with American Flag sail and comfortable seating. He’ll even provide snacks and wine, oh yeah! Check out Catboat Charters here.
