I’ll start by saying I apologize for my blog hiatus… having just got back from New York on Tuesday I spent the whole day yesterday with Grace. Five days was the longest I’d ever been away from her and I missed her so much! We spent my first day back doing everything she liked… Panera Bread for lunch followed by a visit to the toy store and a boat ride (in our new boat!! – pictures to come) once daddy got home. So, yeah, my bag is still sitting in the hallway somewhat unpacked, somewhat not, and there are toys ALL over the house, but I knew I wanted to get a blog post out as soon as possible, so here we are.
New York was a whirlwind of shows, presentations, parties and actually we still managed to get some touristy stuff in too! It was exhausting but fun fun fun. Over the next week or so I’ll share with you some of my Fashion Week highlights and of course outfit choices along the way. It was a great chance to wear an outfit that I otherwise wouldn’t usually reach for living on beachy Cape Cod, but I loved every minute of it!
The duster coat I’m wearing above from Topshop was one of my favourite pieces from the week. I wore it a couple of times – for a daytime look to dress up shorts and a tank, and on another occasion over a simple blush dress one evening for dinner. It proved to be a great accent piece and also perfect for a little extra warmth on those slightly cooler days. Unfortunately it is not still available in grey, but is available in cream, and I’ve also linked a super similar option above in blue. I also loved wearing these Topshop boots – perfect for fall transitioning as the weather gets a little nippier, and really the perfect boots to go with any number of outfit choices. So there we have it, my first New York outfit (and there are plenty more to come!) Hope everyone had a wonderful week and enjoyed the NYFW shows whether following along in person or via the media. What a whirlwind!
