So, I finally got around to sorting through our Utah pictures from our trip in January! Sorry it took so long, time really seems to fly these days. At the beginning of the year we went to Utah, one of two destinations (Malibu being the other) with some family and friends. We stayed at a resort called Deer Valley in an amazingly convenient ski-in-ski-out condo – a life-saver given that one person had to stay with G at all times. We all wanted to get as much skiing in as possible, so to be honest, we barely left the mountain during our stay, but did venture out to Park City a couple of times for dinner. I love Park City for it’s shops and restaurants, and being only ten minutes away made it extremely convenient. We dined at a restaurant called Bandit’s one night and Flanagan’s (more of a pub) another night. Both had excellent food and service, and we’ll definitely return there again.
So… as I said, we skied every day we were there. My friend Emma and I stuck to the green circles and blue squares, but the boys were off on Black Diamonds. What I love about this mountain is that there are so many really great trails for all levels, so you never get bored, and the staff who work there are just amazing, so sweet and helpful. Good service is really important to me, and this mountain has to have the best. The condo which we stayed in had windows which looked out on our ‘ski-out’ trail, and every time Grace saw a skier ski past the lodge she’d say “shoop-shoop” (that’s the sound skis make apparently), and then “baa” (that’s ‘bye’ in a Southern accent, we’re not sure where that came from!). That’s probably my favorite memory from the trip… so cute, a must for the baby book. So, yeah that was our Utah trip, mostly spent skiing, and hot-tubbing, and on the nights we didn’t eat out we made dinners in. A fun activity vaca after our relaxation time in Malibu (those pics to come soon too). Can’t wait to go again next year!
