This next post is all about what you can find in my make-up bag. If you’re anything like me then you are constantly on the look-out for make-up tips and brand recommendations, so I thought I would share with you a few of my current make-up must haves.
First of all, I want to talk about my newest discovery, eye brow pencil. For years I feel as though we have been over-plucking our eyebrows, and really, a fuller looking, more defined brow is so much more attractive. If you are anything like me and choose to pluck instead of wax, then you might relate to the fact that they do not always come out perfectly. With an eye-brow pencil you can fake the perfect brow. And no, it doesn’t look like your grandma’s old pencilled-in brows, it looks natural! I am currently using an eyebrow pencil by TARTE from their EmphasEYES collection in the colour taupe. I cannot recommend this pencil more, it is so easy to use and has improved the look of my eyebrows ten fold.
I also want to talk about my newest blusher obsession in the form of NARS Oasis. Described as ‘sparkling pink champagne’ it is a softened redish-pink that would probably suit most skin types. I love this blusher as it’s very light and easily applied to the skin. This is the first NARS product I have bought to date and really am thoroughly impressed with the purchase.
The third product on my list is an eye-shadow pallet by Urban Decay called Naked Basics. I have never been big into eye shadows mainly because I prefer a very natural look, and always thought that playing up my eyes would lend itself to a more ‘made up’ appearance… wrong! I’m so glad a friend of mine recommended this pallet to me because I am in love. The purpose of the product is for you to be able to create that natural look, and with the neutral shadows provided you can highlight, contour and define your eyes without making your eye make-up look so obvious. The amount you apply, of course, will determine how dramatic a look you create. This is a definite current must-have of mine!
I have always been a big fan of eye-liner, and regularly interchange between brown, grey and black. My favourite brand however has to be Benefit. Their BADgal liners which come in black, espresso and charcoal are applied effortlessly. I love the fact that the liner is double ended, having a smudger on one side to create a more smoked out look. The most current Benefit pencil is also waterproof so it stays put all day.
Finally, to my absolute favourite perfume, and one that can always be found in my make-up bag, CHANEL Chance. Chance is arguably the lightest of the CHANEL perfumes and there are three different versions of the perfume: Chance, Chance Eau Tendre and Chance Eau Fraiche. Eau Fraiche is my go-to, having a clean, fresh, invigorating smell. It is slightly citrusy without being overpowering and is perfect for every-day wear. I have worn this perfume for several years now and never tire of it.
So… that’s it! Hope you enjoyed my first ‘In The Bag’ post. More to come!
